Enrolment FAQs

Classrooms are located in local community settings at sport and recreation facilities, to maximise student learning and deliver industry-based experiences.

These venues are fully equipped with all the infrastructure required for a classroom setting, allowing students to complete theory-based learning as well as practical activities. You can find a list of our classroom venues here.

Selection into our Sports Development Programs (SDP) is not dependent on sporting skills and students of all ability levels may apply. Students must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or Australia Permanent Resident to be eligible for any of the SEDA College NT programs.

For further information regarding the application process please click here.

Students attend SEDA five days a week, completing a timetable that will look similar to the one shown below. Up to three days a week, students complete the classroom-based component of their qualifications. The other two days of the week focus on practical, and industry-based learning activities. This allows students to work towards completion of their senior secondary certificate, as well as vocational units of competency.

No, all students leave their current school to attend SEDA College NT programs. SEDA College NT is a registered independent co-educational senior secondary school.

Students travel to the program via public transport. The SEDA College NT program aims to develop students’ independence, confidence and time management skills and independent travel is part of this self-development.

Students are responsible for sourcing their own work placement with the assistance of their teacher and support staff. SEDA College NT will provide students with key information regarding workplace skills and securing a placement as well as assist students with the process as required. Students may complete their placement in sport and recreation industries or in other industries if they choose.

Year 10 students must complete their placement in the sport and recreation industry and Year 11 students may seek placements in other industries (eg. trade, retail) if they choose.

SEDA College NT graduates can continue further education by undertaking a course at a variety of external institutions. They also have the opportunity to attend University upon completion of Year 12.
