Teacher Position – Tiwi College

The Tiwi Education Board, Tiwi College and SEDA Group (SEDA) are seeking expressions of interest from dynamic teachers who are committed to Indigenous education and applied learning to undertake the role of Senior Young Men’s facilitator at Tiwi College, located at Pickataramoor on Melville Island in the Northern Territory.

The SEDA Sport and Health Promotion Program is a joint initiative between SEDA, Tiwi College and the Tiwi Islands Training and Employment Board providing an opportunity for Tiwi students to develop the necessary life and work skills whilst undertaking their senior secondary education within a sport and community context. 

Your supportive and engaging nature will be responsible for effective and engaging delivery of VET and senior secondary.  You will develop and maintaining partnerships with the local Tiwi community stakeholders (including parents, students, staff, elders, schools, employers and local agencies); maintaining all assessment and reporting documentation and VET courses including records/reports for all participant and facilitating continuous improvement across all aspects of the role.

You will be joining Tiwi College and SEDA as a pivotal part of a dedicated and successful team. You will be TRBNT registered and have a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40110 (or prepared to work towards one), coupled with relevant industry currency; current drivers licence, current working with children check and a current First Aid qualification (including CPR).

You will have demonstrated strong organisational skills including planning and time management with an ability to prioritise and manage workload, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing circumstances as will be evident from your experience playing and coaching sport.  You will have strong interpersonal and well-developed verbal and written communication skills combined with a positive attitude as you will be a role model for the SEDA values of professionalism, innovation, integrity and collaboration.
