Year 12

Empowering Minds, Embracing Passions

SEDA College NT embraces each student’s passion for sport, where we support their individual journey and empower them to complete their secondary education. During Year 12, each student’s focus is attaining their Northern Territory Certificate of Education and Training (NTCET) certificate whilst facilitating, managing and applying what they are learning in real life settings.

Alongside a practical connection to industry and an individual approach to teaching and learning, students will develop real-life skills where they will learn to lead and manage sport and community participation programs for a wide variety of people.

Furthermore, students are treated as young adults and given opportunities to develop their independence and resilience through structured work experience, attending a variety of educational, career and wellbeing programs, as well as participating in SEDA Cup.

SEDA Cup provides students the opportunity to engage with interstate SEDA College students, compete in a variety of sports and participate in various activities and programs. Year 12 students are also given first access to apply for a position on the College’s overseas trip to Timor-Leste.

Curriculum

Students engage in curriculum that enhances learning through their interest in sport and recreation.

We design our curriculum in collaboration with our industry partners so that students develop the knowledge, skills, and attributes of current industry professionals.

Year 12 students undertake a Vocational Education and Training (VET) certificate and NTCET subjects (where essential) to attain the 200 credits required for their NTCET Senior Secondary certificate. As part of this, students will be undertaking a BSB30120 Certificate III in Business*. This qualification aims to develop our students' skills while incorporating a focus on sports-related learning.
